Hurricane Ridge

Saturday, after a less-than scintillating 0-0 tie on Bainbridge Island in Karl's first game of the season-ending soccer tournament, we drove to the north edge of the Olympic Mountain. Just south of Port Angeles is Hurricane Ridge which, when the wind isn't living up to its name, offers one of the best views of the whole mountain range. It was the first visit for Karl and me and the first for Crystal in over a decade. The lowlands were mostly socked in with fog and clouds, but the view from ridge was worth the long day of driving.

Hurricane Ridge is at the northern end of Olympic National Park.
Hanging with Karl.

The fog-filled Elwha Valley winds through the Olympics.
An attempt at a panorama shot. Who put that sun there?

Mount Baker in the Cascades floats in a sea of clouds at sunset.
