Recent Posts Removed

I took down two recent posts. As I work through how and what I wish to present on this blog I'll be taking some stabs at writing and posting while trying to not over-edit. The two recent posts were such attempts. However, they emotionally cut a little too close to bone. They were honest and heartfelt, but had the distinct potential to bring unwarranted pain to people close to me. My emotional burdens are my own, and I need to remember that by sharing them I transfer at least a portion of that burden onto the reader. How much burden depends on the reader. For some the burden could be unreasonably large. It was, in part, that consideration that prompted me to remove them.

Also, one of the posts was a list of seven haikus I slapped together in a short time. Again, they were heartfelt, but I also felt they were weak attempts at writing. I wrote a critical review of them in the form of a haiku to express how I felt upon reviewing them a few days later.

I bang out haikus
Like a drunk empties beer cans
With no thought or art

I'll venture to post more substantive writing in the near future. Admittedly, posts on this blog are analogous to coins tossed into a fountain. Any one post is unlikely to be noticed once submerged and surrounded by all the other glittery things surrounding it. Only a childish heart truly expects coins and the wishes attached to them to resonate beyond their impact with the water. Their ripples are quickly subsumed by the splash of the fountain itself and are lost as quickly as the coin blending in with the myriad of coins previously tossed. Perhaps, however, by tossing them a small fraction of a child's heart can be reclaimed, and for a moment, at least, the hope of childhood rekindled.
