Wizards' Duel!

The met and agreed to the terms.

They lost each other in the fibble poppers.

The found each other on Agate Knob.

The battle took them to the lost temple of Thunka Kang.

To be continued...

Sun Break

Many a Seattle weather forecast this time of year features the phrase, "possible sun breaks." When I first arrived here I thought it a quaint notion of dangling moments of clear sky as a relief from the monotonous gray of your typical Seattle day. Now that I'm becoming an honorary moss-back I embrace them. Therefore, last Saturday, when I notice the gray going bright I ran outside. I wasn't disappointed. Que up the hippie shouting, "Double rainbow! Double rainbow!" jokes.

Hurricane Ridge

Saturday, after a less-than scintillating 0-0 tie on Bainbridge Island in Karl's first game of the season-ending soccer tournament, we drove to the north edge of the Olympic Mountain. Just south of Port Angeles is Hurricane Ridge which, when the wind isn't living up to its name, offers one of the best views of the whole mountain range. It was the first visit for Karl and me and the first for Crystal in over a decade. The lowlands were mostly socked in with fog and clouds, but the view from ridge was worth the long day of driving.

Hurricane Ridge is at the northern end of Olympic National Park.
Hanging with Karl.

The fog-filled Elwha Valley winds through the Olympics.
An attempt at a panorama shot. Who put that sun there?

Mount Baker in the Cascades floats in a sea of clouds at sunset.

New MLB Logo?

Hooray for Ken Griffey Jr for being selected for the MLB Hall of Fame with the highest vote percentage in history. To celebrate this historic election I propose an update to the official MLB logo.

Merry Christmas

A twing of geeky sadness washes over me as I disconnect the VHS player to add the XBox to the home entertainment system.

'Twas a lovely Christmas regardless.

Love to you all,
Ken

The Tree Is Up

I spotted these three shady characters lurking about in the tree. Homeland Security has been notified. All is well. Silent Night.
